week 9

So now it is week 9 in work experience and today i am catching up with my blog and completing my CV to its best ability.

Week 8

Today in work experience I did a pedicure on a client. This is my area all set up for the client to arrive because it is professional and it means your client isnt stood around waiting for you. I need to have a solid 4 legged chair because I suffer with hypermobility  and fibromyalgia so I find it easier sitting on the chairs. I managed to get the whole pedicure done in 30 minutes. That's how long level 1 pedicures are supposed to be.

The nail varnish were very neat and tidy.

My client had a dress on so I pulled the curtains round while she took her tights off. I also put a towel on her knee so no one could see anything. This is privacy and modesty of the client that I supported. 

Week 7

I have been on the beauty reception area today. I enjoy working on there because it gives me more experience and practice on the front desk. I have to book and dismiss clients and take the bills off of them it was hard at first but I soon got used to it. I had to answer the phone when clients was ringing for information or booking in. I did quite well seeing as though it was my first time being on there. I panicked at times but I soon got over it and made a good outcome over it. 

I also had to take clients money and give them the correct change back. I learnt how to do theor receipts. I was all professional with my hair all back and no jewellery on or nail varnish on my nails. I asked the clients to sit while they was waiting for their therapists.

week 6

So today on work experience we have been working about what would happen in a interview. We have been planning our interviews to practice with out tutor.

I have also done a progress sheet about what I will be doing each week in my commercial lessons.

week 5

So today in work experience i did a trade test on Abbie one of my friends in Beauty Therapy level 1. Abbie was the salon owner and was giving me advise on what i could do better with my work. I had 30 minutes to complete a manicure. I nearly finished it all, but didn't have chance to complete the second hand. Although i still finished the off after my time was up so she had perfectly painted nails.

week 4

In todays work experience lesson i needed to update my CV. I had to update it to my best ability because it was to apply for Ragdale Hall. When updating my CV i had realized that it is giving me more experience to apply for all different trypes of jobs and how to adapt my CV to a specific one.

week 3

Today in my work experience, i have been creating a new CV. My new CV has everything in it that i will need to get a job in Beauty Therapy at a top salon. Reed CV has helped me a lot with doing my CV because i haven't written my own CV before and it breaks each column down. This makes it more simple and understandable to do. I've always been stuck on writing my own CV but Reed CV builder has made it much easier.

With my CV that i have just done, hopefully this will help me to apply for jobs in the future.

week 2

I really enjoyed reading this blog because it sums up what i would like to do in a few years time. It is really eye catching with bold bright colour's and fancy writing.
 The person is doing different make-up and beauty courses. like eyebrow definition courses. if i ha my own nail business this is something that i would like to do.

They also speak about what colour nail varnishes are now in season. They know this information because they go to beauty shows in London which really inspires me to be like them.

They also up date prices on nails, and other products or treatments. They also make offers for people with different treatments. 
this has also gave me a good idea to set an account up on pintrest, to look and follow people to give me different ideas with nail art and nail colours.

week 1

This photo is from when i was setting up my blog, for my level 1 Beauty Therapy work experience. It was a very stressful experience. I had to make 2 different email accounts so i could send my self photo's from my phone to my computer and then on to my new blog.

I have chosen my pink back ground because its pretty and eye catching. This colour is also one of my favorite colours.

My new blog is going to show me how much i have progressed with my work through the time i have been at college and will hopefully help me get into a job in a salon, in the nearer future. 
I would like to either pay for a nail technician course or have an apprenticeship, but being 19 years old apprentice wage wouldn't be much money to move out. 

I see my self in a 5 years time having my own business in a nail salon. I would like to start my own business self employed and going around people house's, this will gain me more clients for when i open up a shop.
